Arun-Adur Group – Treasurer’s Report - Financial Summary 2020 – 2021
The continuing impact of Covid-19 and the curtailed walks programme resulted in a reduced expenditure on the main account. We were only able to put on one social event during the year as covid restrictions eased which was the much-appreciated Cream Tea. We have continued to reduce costs over previous years as we do more on line. We have transferred to the Ramblers website and the Walks Programme is now on line and last year’s AGM was held using Zoom.
Main Account
Expenditure in the year related to the following areas:
- Cost of holding the 2020 AGM and audit of the 2020 accounts - £38.78
- Admin expenses, postage, stationery and meeting costs - £110.07
- Recce expense reimbursement for walks leaders - £139.85
- Donation to Hospice in memory of former chair and walk leader Paul Sparrow £25
Income from Ramblers Area £400.00
Thus, the main account cash balance increased by £86.30 during the year, which added to the funds brought forward from the previous year resulted in a closing balance of £1,276.25 on 30 September 2021. Ramblers rules suggest that reserve funds should be no more than 100% of expected operating costs and on the basis of predicted expenditure for the current year we have not asked for Area funding for 2021-2022.
Social Fund
There was only one Social Function this year. The Cream Tea for which a marquee was hired to allow for social distancing and complying with the covid rules that were in place at the time. Looking forwards and the social programme getting back to normal a Skittles evening and Christmas Lunch have been booked.
The Social Fund closing balance was £376.19 on 30 September 2021.
Audit
As required by the Ramblers Association the accounts have been subject to an independent review and have been signed off as giving a fair representation of the Group’s activities for the year to 30 September 2021
